What Happens to Workflows When Deactivating a User

Learn what happens to workflows when deactivating a user in Event Temple. Incomplete workflows stay assigned to the user, so reassign tasks individually to avoid automation issues. Deleting a user permanently removes their record.

Deactivating a user keeps them as the Assignee of their bookings. Incomplete workflows are not automatically reassigned. To prevent issues:

  1. Open the Booking Details of a booking needing reassignment.

  2. Click the Booking Assignee in the top-right.

  3. Select the new assignee and check “Reassign workflow tasks to this user.”

  4. Click Apply and repeat for each booking with active workflows.

Important:

  • Batch updating assigned users does not reassign workflow tasks.

  • Deleting a user removes their record permanently; you must reassign all bookings during deletion.
