Why am I getting an error when I try to add a revenue category?
I'm trying to add a revenue category and it says it already exists but it doesn't?
Answer:
Revenue Categories must have unique names. If you get this error it means that a Revenue Category with the same name already exists.
Single Organizations
If you are a single Organization, check the list of Revenue Categories carefully to find the duplicate.
Multi-Organizations
If you are a Multi-Organization and you are trying to add a new Revenue Category to one of your Organizations and you get this error but have confirmed that it does not already exist on the Org then you need to check your Chain level fields. From your Chain level fields you can add additional Organizations to the Revenue Category so that they have access to it.
Go to Settings
Click the Organization dropdown at the top of the page and select Chain
Click on Fields to expand the Field options
Click on Revenue Categories
Locate the Revenue Category in question and click the pencil icon to edit
In the Edit Value window, click the My Organizations dropdown to add additional properties which gives them access to the Revenue Category
Click Save
