Using the Room Blocks Report in Event Temple

The Room Blocks Report gives you a detailed overview of all room blocks created in your property, including their status, revenue, and pickup performance. This report is ideal for monitoring your group bookings, tracking pickup pace, and reviewing revenue performance across dates.


How to Access This Report

  1. Go to the left-hand menu in Event Temple.

  2. Click on Reports.

  3. Under the Room Blocks section, select Room Block List.

    • You’ll be taken to the Reports: Room Blocks page (as shown in the screenshot).


Understanding the Room Blocks Report

Once you’re on the page, you’ll see a table listing all active and historical room blocks.

Each column displays key information to help analyze performance:

Column

Description

Name

The name of the booking or event associated with the room block. Click the name to open the full booking record.

Code

The unique booking reference (e.g., BK-00015).

Arrival Date / Departure Date

The dates for which the room block applies.

Status

Displays whether the block is Lead, Tentative, or Definite.

Blocked / Pickup

Shows the number of rooms originally blocked vs. the number actually picked up.

Blocked Revenue / Pickup Revenue

Displays the total expected revenue from the blocked rooms and the actual revenue based on pickup.


Filters and Sorting

Use the Add Filter and Sort tools at the top to refine your view:

  • Add Filter:
    Filter by Arrival Date, Status, Account, or Booking Name to narrow down the report.

  • Sort:
    Click on any column header (e.g., Arrival Date or Blocked Revenue) to sort the list ascending or descending.

This helps you focus on specific date ranges or identify top-performing group bookings.


Exporting the Report

If you’d like to analyze the data further:

  1. Click the Export button in the top right corner.

  2. Choose your preferred format (e.g., CSV or Excel).

  3. Download and save the file to share or analyze offline.


Example Use Cases

  • Monitor group block pickup performance against forecasted blocks.

  • Identify unrealized room revenue from groups that didn’t pick up rooms.

  • Review upcoming blocks to ensure inventory and rates are optimized.

  • Provide reports for sales or revenue meetings.
