Contracted Rooms are useful for reporting purposes if a Group originally Contracted a set number of rooms but added/removed rooms from the block at a later stage.

It's possible to track Contracted rooms in addition to Blocked and Pickup. A User can select Contracted Rooms when adding a New Group.

Once enabled, users can add Contracted rooms when building a Group Block. Columns are available to reports for the count of Contracted Rooms as well as the Contracted Revenue.
