Room blocks allow users to reserve a collection of rooms for group bookings or events. This feature is designed to simplify the booking process for larger groups while maintaining flexibility for individual guest reservations. However, certain system-imposed limitations or user permission requirements may impact how room blocks are created and managed.
System-Imposed Room Type Restrictions
When creating room blocks, you may notice that only the "Single" option is available for room types. This restriction is due to the integration with Mews, which only allows single rooms to be entered as part of room blocks. Once guests pick up or book rooms, their occupancy details will automatically appear in the appropriate sections of the system—for example, under the Reservations tab. This ensures that group bookings are accurately tracked and managed.
User Permissions for Managing Room Blocks
Access to adding or editing room blocks, room types, or rates within Event Temple depends on the user’s permission level. If you are unable to see these options, it may be because your account has Read-Only access. To perform these actions, you must have either Admin or Regular access permissions. If you believe your account needs greater access, please contact an Admin user to update your user role. Ensuring proper permissions will enable smooth management of room blocks and associated details.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
To address some of the frequent challenges:
Encountering Single Room-Type Restrictions: Remember that this behavior is a system limitation due to the Mews integration. Ensure that this aligns with your booking needs and confirm occupancy details in the system once rooms are picked up.
Inability to Add or Edit Room Blocks or Rates: Verify your user permissions. If you have Read-Only access, request an Admin to adjust your role to Regular or Admin access for performing these tasks.
