This is particularly useful for divisible spaces — large rooms that can be broken down into smaller sections (for example, Glacier Hall AB can be divided into Glacier Hall A and Glacier Hall B).
When a space is configured to have blocked spaces, it means:
If you book the main space (Glacier Hall AB), the smaller linked spaces (Glacier Hall A and Glacier Hall B) are automatically blocked for the same date and time.
Likewise, if you book a sub-space (Glacier Hall A), any spaces linked as “blocked” (like Glacier Hall AB) will also be unavailable during that time.
This prevents scheduling conflicts and ensures that overlapping spaces can’t be double-booked.
How to Set It Up
Go to Settings → Spaces.
Edit a space (for example, Glacier Hall AB).
In the Blocked section, select any spaces that should be automatically blocked when this space is booked.
Click Apply to save your changes.
Example
Glacier Hall AB is listed as a large ballroom.
Glacier Hall A and Glacier Hall B are its smaller sections.
In the Glacier Hall AB settings, if A and B are selected under Blocked, then booking Glacier Hall AB will automatically block both A and B from being booked at the same time.
Preventing Space Conflicts
You can choose between two options:
Allow: Displays a warning if a space conflict exists, but still allows the user to save the event.
Prevent: Blocks the user from saving the event if there is a conflict with another booking.
This setting helps control how your team manages overlapping events in shared or divisible spaces.
Important Considerations
To show the spaces blocked on the Event Diary, ensure "Show excluded spaces" is selected. It will then show any blocked Spaces in Grey.
This can be selected by default:
Go to Settings
Click Organization
Choose General Settings
Under the the Calendar Heading, Click Edit
Select Show Excluded Spaces
Click Save
