Procedure:
Conflict checking for Events helps prevent double-booking a Space. By default, the system will always warn you if you try to overbook the space. However, you can dismiss this warning and double book a Space.
โ
Strictly Preventing Conflicts
Organization Administrators can turn on Strict Conflict Checks from their Organization Settings. If turned on, users will be completely prevented from creating events that cause conflicts.
Events with 'Definite' and 'Tentative' status are always included in strict conflict checks. Events with 'Lead' status can optionally be included in conflict checks by turning the option on under Organization Settings.
Select Settings on the left-hand sidebar
Select Organization from the Settings
Click on Preferences
Scroll down to Spaces and Edit
Select either Allow or Prevent from the drop-down
Click Save at the bottom
Additional Information:
If you have this setting set to Prevent - you will lose your ability to batch/bulk Clone Events in your Bookings. (Each Event will have to be Cloned manually.) You can learn about Cloning Events here.
Conflict checking does not include Events from the same Booking. This is so users can Book the Space for multiple Events and allow them to overlap as needed (for example set up event in the ballroom is 5-6.30pm & reception is 6-10pm).
Space Closures will always prevent an Event being booked, regardless of the Space Conflict setting selected.
It is possible to make specific spaces shared, if you'd like to give some the ability to be booked by more than one Event at the same time.
