Introduction to Bookings, Events & Groups

Learn the difference between a Booking, Event & Group within Event Temple

Updated over 2 months ago

What is a Booking?

The Booking is the overarching entity that contains the details of your guests' Events & Groups. From the Booking, users can also create & share Invoices, Documents, and more.

A Booking may go for one day or multiple days. A Booking can also be recurring if your guests have regular visits to the property.

What is an Event?

An Event is the part of a Booking that allows you to block a Space & add specific Event details, such as attendees & set up style.

A Booking can have multiple Events, for example, a wedding may have a Rehearsal, Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, and Reception. Each of these is part of the Booking and can be added as a separate Event.

A Booking may also go over multiple days & in that time, the guest might have multiple Events per day. All of those Events will be created under the same Booking.

The flexibility of Events gives the option to not only have Events in different Spaces if needed but to also customize Documents in more detail as well as more comprehensive reporting.

What is a Group?

Groups are the accommodation component of a Booking. You will only be able to see the Group option if your Organization has this feature enabled.

Within a Group, you can add the Group block & rates for a Booking as well as Group-specific notes. This information can then be used in Documents & reporting
