How Do I Link a File in a Document Template?

Link uploaded files (like PDFs or floorplans) in a document template by copying the file URL and adding it as a text or image link within a text box.

You can link uploaded files (such as PDFs or floorplans) within a Document Template using a URL.


Step 1: Upload and Copy the File URL

  1. Go to Settings → Templates & Files → Files

  2. Locate your file

  3. Click the file name to open it

  4. Copy the URL from your browser


Step 2: Add the Link to Your Template

Open your Document Template and add the link within a text box.


Option 1: Add a Text Link

  1. Select the Text Box element

  2. Click the link icon

  3. Paste the file URL

  4. Enter display text (e.g., “View Floor Plan”)

  5. Choose whether to open in a new tab

  6. Click Insert → Apply → Save


Option 2: Link an Image

  1. Add or select an image in a Text Box

  2. Click the link icon

  3. Paste the file URL

  4. Choose whether to open in a new tab

  5. Click Insert → Apply → Save


Summary

Files must be uploaded first. You can then link them in a template using either text or images.
