Overview
If pickup numbers or room counts look different between Event Temple and Opera, Opera's Changes Log is your first stop. It records every change made to a block — including who made the change and whether it came from a user or from Event Temple.
How to find the Changes Log
In Opera Cloud, open the group block in question.
Click the I Want To menu (the arrow icon at the top right of the block).
Select Changes Log.
You'll see a list of every modification made to the block, including:
What field was changed (e.g., room count, rate, method of payment)
The old value and the new value
The date and time of the change
Who or what made the change — a specific Opera user, or Event Temple
How to interpret the log
If the change shows a user's name: A hotel staff member made the change directly in Opera. Check with that person or their manager to understand why.
If the change shows Event Temple: The change was pushed from Event Temple. Log in to Event Temple and check the group's activity history to find out which user triggered the update.
If you don't see the change in the log: The discrepancy may be a display or sync timing issue. Try refreshing the group in Event Temple and checking again after the next nightly sync.
Tip
When escalating a pickup discrepancy to Event Temple Support, it helps to include a screenshot of the relevant Changes Log entry — specifically showing the old value, new value, and source. This speeds up the investigation significantly.
