Purpose of Event Setup Styles
Setup styles represent the physical arrangement of furniture or equipment within a room for an event — for example, “Classroom,” “Theatre,” or “U-Shape.” By assigning a setup style to an event or space, teams can ensure that everyone involved understands the intended layout and capacity.
Viewing Existing Setup Styles
The page lists all available setup styles in a table format, including:
Value Name – the name of the setup style (e.g., Classroom, Rounds of 8).
Organizations – shows whether the setup style applies to all organizations or a specific one (for chain properties).
Each setup style entry includes action buttons that let you:
Edit – modify the setup style name or details.
Archive – hide the setup style from active use without deleting it.
Delete – permanently remove it (if not in use).
You can also toggle “Show Archived” to view any previously archived setup styles.
Adding a New Setup Style
To create a new setup style:
Click New Event Setup Style at the top of the page.
Enter a Value Name (for example, Banquet, Boardroom, or Cabaret).
Choose whether the setup style applies to all organizations or specific ones (if you manage a chain).
Save your changes to make the setup style available for selection in events.
Managing Setup Styles
Editing: Use the edit button beside any setup style to rename or update it.
Archiving: Use archiving to keep your list tidy without losing historical data. Archived styles remain available for reference but cannot be newly assigned.
Deleting: Only delete a setup style if it’s no longer needed and not tied to existing events.
Practical Uses
Setup styles are referenced throughout Event Temple in:
Event Templates – defining how a space should be configured for specific event types.
Bookings & Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) – showing operations teams the setup for each function.
Reports – tracking how often certain setups are used.
In summary:
The Event Setup Styles page is where you standardize room layout terminology within your organization. Keeping these styles consistent ensures smooth communication between sales, catering, and operations — helping every event run exactly as planned.
