Creating a Resort Fee in Event Temple

Adding a resort fee in Event Temple allows you to automatically apply a fixed or percentage-based charge to invoices. This is ideal for properties that charge guests for amenities such as parking, Wi-Fi, or facility access.

Step 1: Navigate to Taxes and Fees

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Taxes and Fees.

  2. Click New Tax in the top right corner.

Step 2: Choose the Fee Type

  1. In the creation window, set the Type to Fee.

  2. Enter a Name, for example: Resort Fee.

  3. Set the Rate β€” typically a percentage (e.g., 5%) or a flat amount (e.g., $25).

Step 3: Configure Fee Settings

  • Applies To: Select whether this fee applies to all items or only specific categories (e.g., guestrooms, F&B, room rental).

  • Fee Behavior:

    • Fees are calculated before taxes and are included in the taxable sale price of an item.

    • If a tax is marked Fee Exempt, the resort fee will not be taxed.

Step 4: Save the Fee

Click Save to apply the new resort fee. It will now appear in your Taxes and Fees list and can be automatically applied to invoices or line items where applicable.

Notes

  • Resort fees will appear as separate line items on invoices.

  • To remove or edit the fee, return to Settings β†’ Taxes and Fees, click the Edit icon next to your fee, and update as needed.

  • If the Fee is a Dollar amount as opposed to a percentage then you are unable to add a Resort fee in this way. It would need to be added as it's own Menu Item and the price will need to be adjusted accordingly to each Booking.
