Many organizations use the following standard market segments:

SMERF – Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal groups.
Tour & Travel – Group tours, travel agencies, or leisure bookings.
Government – Federal, provincial, or municipal government events.
Convention – Conferences or large-scale conventions.
Association – Non-profit or professional association events.
Crew – Airline, transport, or contract-based staff bookings.
Your property can customize or add additional market segments as needed.
How to Manage Market Segments
Go to Settings → Market Segments.
Click New Market Segment to add a new category.
Enter the Value Name (e.g., “Wedding,” “Sports,” “Local Business”).
Assign it to All Organizations (if applicable).
Click Save.
You can also Edit, Archive, or Delete existing market segments at any time.
How Market Segments Are Used
Bookings & Accounts: Assign a market segment to a booking or account to classify it.
Reports: Filter and group performance reports by market segment for analysis.
Forecasting: Use segments to understand which markets contribute most to future revenue.
Important Notes
Market Segments are organization-wide and standardized for reporting accuracy.
Archiving a segment hides it from future use but keeps past data intact.
Deleting a segment permanently removes it—only do this if it’s unused in existing records.
