How Can I Edit a Document Template?

Updated this week

🧭 Steps to Edit a Document Template

  1. Go to Document Templates

    • From the left menu, navigate to
Settings → Templates & Files → Document Templates.

    • You’ll see two tabs:

      • Organization Templates (your property’s templates)

      • Event Temple Standard Templates (pre-built templates).

  2. Locate the Template You Want to Edit

    • Use the search bar or scroll to find the document you need (for example, Contract, Group Resume, or Banquet Event Order).

    • Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to that template.

  3. Make Edits in the Template Editor

    • Once inside the editor, you can:

      • Add, edit, or delete text.

      • Insert merge fields (placeholders for data like {{account.name}} or {{booking.event_date}}).

      • Upload or replace images (like your logo).

      • Adjust layout, tables, and formatting.

  4. Preview and Save

    • After editing, click Preview to confirm the changes look correct.

    • Then click Save or Apply to finalize your edits.

💡 Tips

  • Clone before editing if you want to keep the original — use the Clone button to create a copy and then modify it.

  • Merge fields can be found using the “Insert Merge Field” option in the editor — they automatically pull live data from bookings, contacts, and events.

  • Templates are specific to each organization, so changes here only affect the selected property.
