How Do I Edit Menu Items that is already added to an Event / Booking?

Like many things in Event Temple, there is more than one way to edit Menu Items that already exist within a Booking depending on your processes & where you happen to be in the system.


From the Booking's Line Items Sub-tab

This is the most popular way, as you can manage all Menu Items, regardless of which Event or Invoice they belong to.

  1. Access the Booking that has Menu Items associated with it

  2. Click on the Line Items Sub-tab on the Booking Summary screen

  3. Find the Menu Item you wish to edit

  4. Click the Pencil/Edit Icon on the left-side of the line item, or click into directly from that view

  5. Make the changes you desire

  6. Click Save

All your Line Items that are attached to your Booking / Event will be under the Line Items sub-tab, accessible from the Booking's summary page


From the Event List on Booking Summary

This option is great if you're working within a specific Event

  1. Access the Booking that has Menu Items associated with it

  2. Scroll to the Events section of the Booking

  3. Find the Event that has the Menu items you wish to edit

  4. Click the Event ID or Name and you will be able to see all information that is set for that specific Event

  5. Scroll to the Line Items Section

  6. Edit the items directly by clicking into the fields or click the pencil icon


From Invoice Edit Screen

This is helpful when working from within an Invoice. Invoiced Menu items are shared with the Booking, meaning any changes made to an item from the Invoice will automatically update on the Booking/Event, and vise versa.

  1. Access the Invoice that has the Menu Item you wish to Edit

  2. Scroll down the Invoice to the Menu Item you wish to edit

  3. Click the Edit/Pencil Icon on the left-hand side of the line item

  4. Make the changes you desire

  5. Click Save

Make changes to specific Line Items

  • Clicking the Pencil Icon at the end of each line.

  • 'In line' directly clicking into the fields you wish to edit (Name, Description, Serving time, Price, quantity etc.)

  • Use the Batch options to manage multiple items at once. Select the checkbox next to a date to include all associated line items, or check individual boxes to update specific entries.

Batch actions allows you to perform various actions on the selected items, such as

  • Assign to an Event

  • Assign to an Invoice if one is already created

  • Create an Invoice

  • Update various fields, such as quantity or price among others

  • Delete

If your Line Item is part of a Package, it has the little package icon next to the date you will not able to edit a single line item quantity.


Even More, ways to edit Menu Items!

From the Document Edit Screen (though Linked Events)

  1. Open the Document that has Menu Items associated with it

  2. Click on the Linked Events listed in the section at the top of the Document to expand that section

  3. Find the Event that has the Menu Items you wish to Edit

  4. Click the Edit/Pencil Icon on the right-hand side of the Menu Item

  5. Find the Menu Item you wish to Edit

  6. Click the Edit/Pencil Icon on the left-hand side of the line item

  7. Make the changes you desire

  8. Click Save

Expand the Linked Events in the Document to make changes to the Line Items

From the Event List View

  1. Click Events from the left-hand sidebar of Event Temple

  2. Find the Event that has the Menu items you wish to edit

  3. Click the dropdown arrow on the right-hand side of the line item

  4. Select Edit form the dropdown

  5. Find the Menu Item you wish to Edit

  6. Click the Edit/Pencil Icon on the left-hand side of the line item

  7. Make the changes you desire

  8. Click Save and Close
