How the Menu Items Document Element applies to you

This feature allows you to display anything and everything from the Menu Items that have been selected for the Booking, Event(s) or Invoice associated with the Document.

To edit the element, double click on it, or click the 'edit' icon when hovering over the element.

How to use the Menu Items Document Element

The default source is Booking, however this can be modified to Events or Invoice. If you select Event, you can also choose a specific event/s. This is helpful if you'd like to separate Events into different portions of a Document:

Important considerations if selecting Event as the source

Menu Items linked to an Event

  • Items are grouped by Event

  • Items are sorted by Event name (alphabetically), and then by the date they're created

Menu Items not linked to an Event

  • Items will be grouped together

  • Items are sorted by the date they're created

Display Options

Hide column header row on Menu Items table - this option will hide all headers from the table (eg Item name, description)

Sort Menu Items by Serving Time - if serving time has been enabled on the Menu Items, they will be listed from earliest to latest when this option is selected.

Use tax-inclusive pricing: applied taxes and service fees are incorporated into unit prices, line totals, and subtotal.

Bundle Display Style

  • Individual: Menu Items in the bundle will be displayed individually without mentioning the bundle.

  • Grouped: Bundles will be displayed but not the Menu Items within them.

  • Cascading: Bundles will be displayed and Menu Items within them will cascade under the bundle name.

Grouping

Group Menu Items by Event: Each Event will have it's own Header, and it's Menu items will be nested underneath

Group menu items by Event Start Date: Menu Items will be grouped by Start Date, with the Events nested underneath with their Menu Items.

Packages

Hide packaged item pricing: this functionality hides the price of Menu Items that are part of a Package.

Show Packages: will create a line for the Package with a per person price and the total for the package.

Hide Packaged Items: this feature will hide all menu items that are part of a package.

Hide column header row for packages: the table headers ("item name", "Quantity/Price", etc) won't be shown.

Revenue Categories & Revenue Groups

This filter will be defaulted to show Menu Items from all Revenue Categories/Groups. If you'd like to show only Menu Items from a specific Revenue Category/Group, select it from the list. You can also select multiple Revenue Categories/Groups if needed.

In the below example, I would like to show all items within the revenue group 'beverage'. This means I don't have to manually select multiple revenue categories that make up the beverage group (eg. hard liquor, beer & wine, non-alcoholic).

To show Menu Items separated by Revenue Categories, add Multiple Menu Item Elements, each with its own Revenue Categories.

Component Name

What columns are viewed on the element can be customized by ticking the boxes you want to be displayed.

The heading for each component can also be re-named as needed by entering it under Optional Label.

Important Considerations

If the Serving Time column is shown, the date & time will appear if Menu Items span over multiple days. If the Menu Items are all on the same date, only the time will show.

To allow for better visibility Menu Item Names can be made bold

To make this change, select Font Weight Bold from the drop-down.

If you would like Taxes to be shown along with your menu items then the "Line Total" should also be selected:
