Whether you need to share a template across your entire chain or move a template to a specific property, you can manage document template availability directly through your permission settings.
Prerequisites
You must be a Chain Admin to change permissions between properties or convert a template to chain-wide.
The document template must already exist at the chain level or within the originating property before it can be reassigned.
How to Change Template Scope or Move Between Properties
Option 1: Share a Template Chain-Wide (All Properties)
To make a document template accessible across all connected organizations:
Click your Organization Name in the top-right corner and select the organization where the template currently lives.
From the left navigation menu, go to Settings → Templates & Files → Document Templates.
Locate the template you want to make chain-wide and click the Template Name or Edit (pencil) icon.
Near the top of the template editor, locate the Permission dropdown.
Select Chain.
Click Save in the bottom right corner.
Outcome: The template will now be visible across all properties in your chain.
Option 2: Move or Assign a Template to a Specific Property
To move a template to a single property without making it chain-wide, or to send a chain-level template to a specific organization:
Switch to your Chain View using the organization selector in the top-right corner (or select the originating property).
Go to Settings → Templates & Files → Document Templates.
Locate the template and click Clone (recommended if you want to keep the original intact) or Edit.
In the template editor, locate the Permission dropdown at the top.
Select the specific Organization (Property) you want to assign the template to.
Click Save.
Outcome: The template will now be visible exclusively to users within the selected property.
Permission & Ownership Reference
