Choice Menu Items allow you to create menu selections that include multiple options under a single grouped item. This is useful for scenarios such as plated dinners with selectable entrées, sides, or add-ons.
Choice Menu Items can be added to bookings without selections being made right away. Choices can be completed or updated at a later time.
Creating a Choice Menu Item
1. Navigate to Menu Items
Go to Settings in the left sidebar.
Under Offerings, select Menus.
Open the menu where you would like to add the item.
Click New Menu Item.
2. Select Choice Group Type
In the New Menu Item window:
Under Type, select Choice Group.
This creates a menu item with selectable options rather than a single item.
3. Enter Menu Item Details
Complete the item details:
Menu: Select the applicable menu.
Sub Menu: Choose or enter the relevant submenu (for example, Dinner or Breakfast).
Name: Enter the name of the Choice Group (for example, "Dinner Entrées" or "Select Your Sides").
Description: Add any relevant details or instructions.
Secondary Language: Add translations if applicable.
Revenue Category: Select the appropriate revenue category.
Price: Add a base price if applicable.
Taxes: Select any applicable taxes or fees.
Prices entered include taxes: Enable this option if applicable.
4. Add Choice Options
Under Choice Group Options:
Click Add Option to add selectable items.
Enter the option details, including:
Name
Price or additional pricing
Use the available options to:
Edit choices
Clone choices
Delete choices
Reorder choices
You can also click Add Section to organize options into groups, such as Main Courses, Sides, or Desserts.
5. Configure Selection Limits (Optional)
Enable Limit Selection if you want to restrict how many options a customer can choose.
When enabled, a warning will appear if the required number of selections has not been made during ordering.
6. Save the Choice Menu Item
Review your settings and click Create.
The Choice Menu Item will now appear in your Menu Items list and can be added to bookings.
Adding a Choice Menu Item to a Booking
To add a Choice Menu Item to a booking:
Locate the booking.
Open the Menu Items sub-tab.
Click Add Item.
Select the Choice Menu Item.
Make selections if applicable.
Click Save.
Selections do not need to be completed immediately. You can add the Choice Menu Item first and update the choices later.
Editing a Choice Menu Item on a Booking
You can update Choice Menu Items directly from the booking's Menu Items sub-tab.

The following details can be edited by clicking directly on the value:

Price
Full Edit
To make additional changes:
Locate the booking.
Open the Menu Items sub-tab.
Click the edit icon next to the Choice Menu Item.
Update the required details.
Click Save.
Additional Pricing
You can update add-on pricing for Choice Group options by editing the Choice Group.
Each option will have an Edit button where additional pricing can be adjusted.
