Overview

The page lists all existing event types, such as Meeting, Registration, Lunch, Dinner, and Reception. Each type represents a category of event activity that can be scheduled within bookings. The page displays each event type’s name and the organizations it applies to.

Adding a New Event Type

To add a new event type:

  1. Click the “New Event Type” button at the top of the page.

  2. Enter the Value Name — this is the label for your new event type (for example, “Workshop” or “Cocktail Hour”).

  3. Specify which organizations it should apply to (if your account manages multiple organizations).

  4. Save your changes. The new event type will then appear in the list.

Editing an Existing Event Type

To modify an event type:

  1. Find the event type you want to change.

  2. Click the Edit button (the pencil icon) beside it.

  3. Update the value name or assigned organizations as needed.

  4. Click Apply or Save to confirm your edits.

Archiving an Event Type

Archiving an event type removes it from active use without permanently deleting it. This is helpful when an event type is no longer needed but you want to retain its record for reporting or historical data.

  • To archive, click the Archive button beside the event type.

  • You can view archived types anytime by selecting the “Show Archived” checkbox at the top of the page.

Deleting an Event Type

If an event type is no longer needed, you can delete it completely from your system.

  • Click the Delete button beside the type.

  • Note: Deleting is permanent and should only be used when the event type will not be used again.

Example Use Cases

Common examples of event types include:

  • Meal periods: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, AM Break, PM Break.

  • Meeting categories: General Session, Breakout, Setup, Tear Down.

  • Special events: Reception, Ceremony, Bar, Decoration Setup.

Using consistent event types helps with streamlined event planning, scheduling, and analytics across your team and venues.
