What Does the "HTTP 408 – Request Timeout" Error Mean in Event Temple?

The "HTTP 408 – Request Timeout" error occurs when a sync with your PMS takes too long. Refreshing, resyncing, or checking your internet connection usually resolves it.

Updated yesterday

The "HTTP 408 – Request Timeout" error appears when Event Temple’s sync with your PMS (Property Management System) takes longer than the server allows, causing the request to time out.

Common Causes

  • Temporary server delays on the PMS side.

  • Slow or unstable internet connection.

  • Large data requests that take longer than usual to process.

How to Resolve

  1. Refresh or Resync: Try refreshing your browser or re-initiating the sync.

  2. Check Your Connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable.

  3. Retry Later: If the PMS server was temporarily slow, waiting a few minutes and retrying often resolves the issue.

Tips

  • If the error persists consistently, reach out to Event Temple support with the PMS name and timestamps so we can investigate further.

  • For large data syncs, consider breaking them into smaller segments if possible.
