1. The wrong document is selected under “Document”
When you compose an email in Event Temple, there’s a dropdown on the right-hand side labeled “Document” (under the “Associations” section).
If “Blank Document” or an old file is selected, that’s the document link that’s automatically inserted into your email.
✅ Fix: Select the correct document (e.g., “Group Resume,” “Contract,” or “Banquet Event Order”) before clicking Send.
2. You inserted a previous document link
If you click “+ Insert Document Link”, Event Temple doesn’t automatically update the link — it keeps the one you selected at that time.
✅ Fix: Remove the old link in the email body and use the “Document Links” button again to insert the new one (after selecting the right document under “Associations”).
3. The email template is auto-pulling the wrong merge field
If you’re using a saved email template, it may contain an outdated merge field (for example, {{document.url}} from a prior booking).
✅ Fix: Edit the template under Settings → Templates & Files → Email Templates and make sure it references the correct document merge field or no document link at all.
4. Multiple documents with similar names
If your booking has several drafts like “Group Resume (Draft)” or “Blank Document”, it’s easy to pick the wrong one.
✅ Fix: Rename your final versions clearly (e.g., “Contract – Final” or “Group Resume – Proscan Booking”) to avoid confusion when selecting.
