  • Is there an audit trail for signatures on documents?

  • How can we be sure the email we send the contract to is the person signing?

Answer:

The requirements for making a digital document legally binding differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction but we do take a number of steps to ensure minimal compliance:

  • Documents and Invoices are locked after both parties have signed

  • We track the IP address of the signer, this is available in the back-end and can be requested on a case-by-case basis if needed for a legal matter

  • We keep a PDF snapshot of the document at the time of signature

  • We email both parties a copy of the signed Document/Invoice

At this time we do not have a detailed audit log of document changes but this is something that will be looked at in the future when we implement our Activity Tracking Feature.
