How Do I Update a Contact’s Associated Account?

Need to update which Account a Contact is linked to? You can easily change or assign a new Account right from the Contact Summary Page.

Steps to Update a Contact’s Associated Account

  1. Go to the Contacts page

    • Navigate to Contacts from the left-side menu.

  2. Select the contact you want to edit

    • Click on the contact’s name to open their profile.

  3. Locate the “Account” section

    • Scroll to the Account field (usually below the contact’s email and phone number).

  4. Edit the associated account

    • Click the Account name button to open a dropdown list.

    • Choose the new account you want to associate the contact with.

    • If the correct account doesn’t exist, create a new one by selecting “New Account” (if available).

  5. Save your changes

    • Click Save (top-right corner) to confirm the update.


✅ Result

The contact will now be linked to the new account. This change will reflect on both the Contact and Account pages.
