Room Block Document Element

Learn how to use and customize the Room Block element in Event Temple documents. Control layout, display reservation values, and adjust formatting to show group lodging details clearly.

What is the Room Block element?

The Room Block element displays group lodging details within a document, including blocked rooms, pickup, and rates.

It is used to present accommodation information for group bookings in a clear, structured format.


How to edit the Room Block element

Once added to a document:

  • Double-click the element, or

  • Click the edit icon

From here, you can customize layout, formatting, and display options.


Display and formatting options

You can adjust:

  • Top & Bottom Margins

  • Font styling

  • Component Names (headers and labels)


Reservation display options

Include subtotals and grand total

  • Displays totals by day

  • Adds a grand total for the full room block


Include reservation values

Choose which values to display:

  • Blocked rooms

  • Pickup rooms

  • Rate


Layout options

Vertical layout (by date)

  • Dates appear in rows

  • Allows selection of occupancy columns

  • Rows with no blocked or picked-up rooms are hidden


Horizontal layout (by date)

  • Dates appear in columns

  • Provides a more compact, table-style view


Customize labels

You can rename headers and sections using:

  • Component Name

  • Optional Label

This allows you to tailor the document to your brand or terminology.


Important notes

  • Arrival and Departure dates are always included

  • Totals are not included by default unless enabled

  • Rows with no activity may be hidden depending on layout settings
